The Primary Curriculum (1999) is presented in seven curriculum areas. It is a rich resource and can be used by teachers to broadenand generalise schemes of work. 

In developing a suitable curriculum for our school, teachers follow the Guidelines for Teachers of Students with Moderate Learning Disabilities. Where appropriate, the Guidelines for Teachers of Students with Severe and Profound Learning Disabilities are incorporated into lesson plans.

Pupils of post primary age are engaging with the recently developed Junior Certificate Level 2 Learning Programmes (L2LPs) designed for students who have general learning disabilities in the higher functioning moderate category. This is year one of implementing this syllabus in the school.
St. Vincent's Special School will close on Monday, 22nd February for Day 2 Teacher Inservice training for this curriculum.

​Senior pupils are working towards certification in ASDAN.
